The Frederick County Republican Central Committee is organizing a vigorous voter registration campaign in our county. We are asking everyone who believes they will have even a few hours of time to donate to this effort to make every attempt to attend our voter registration training and certification with representatives from the Board of Elections on the evening of Monday, April 18th from 7 pm - 8:30 pm at the 3rd floor conference room on 50 Citizens Way in Frederick. Register here. In Frederick County, Republicans are thankfully still in the majority, leading the Democrats by 6,100 votes (53%R/47%D). However, we know they are trying to catch up and we need to work to stay ahead of them. We also acknowledge that while we did make major gains locally in 2010, we are still sending two Democrats (Galen Clagett and Ron Young) to Annapolis. On top of that, we want to make certain that the 6th Congressional seat, currently held by Roscoe Bartlett, stays in Republican hands. There is plenty of work to do, and judging from the small margin of votes that decided elections in District 3 (Senate) and 3A (House of Del), our efforts could have a deciding effect at the ballot box. In Frederick County, our research indicates that approximately 30,000 people who are eligible to vote are unregistered. Many of these people are conservatives, and we need to find them. In addition, there are 25,000 unaffiliated voters in our county. We need to be educating them that they are losing their voice in the primaries by not affiliating with a party. Whether you can give 3 or 30 hours, we are asking you to sign up with us as a voter registration volunteer. To do that, you must get a brief training from the Board of Elections, and we will be doing this Monday, April 18th from 7 pm - 8:30 pm at the 3rd floor conference room on 50 Citizens Way in Frederick. After that, you'll be on our list and will be notified when we need volunteers for an event, and you can help when and where you can. We look forward to meeting you, and for many of you, we look forward to catching up with you! If you have any questions, please e-mail the coordinator of this event, Pam Ward, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Many Thanks! |
